Welcome to the Official Website of Dr. Jennifer Arnold

Neonatologist • Physician Leader • Advocate • Educator • Cancer Survivor • Mother

Hello and welcome. I’m Dr. Jennifer Arnold — a board-certified neonatologist, physician executive, and passionate champion for children and families navigating complex medical needs. Currently, I serve as a leader and attending physician at Boston Children’s Hospital and a faculty member at Harvard Medical School.

I’ve dedicated my life to improving healthcare for the most vulnerable — from premature infants in the NICU to children born with rare conditions requiring lifelong, specialized care. My mission is rooted in clinical excellence, innovation, and empathy — all shaped by my own personal experience as a patient, parent, and physician.

About Dr. Jennifer Arnold

As someone born with a rare form of skeletal dysplasia, I understand the patient journey in a way few physicians do. I’ve undergone more than 30 surgeries and spent countless days in hospitals — not as a doctor, but as a child growing up in a world that didn’t always fit me. That experience inspired a deep commitment to helping children not just survive, but thrive — with dignity, support, and access to the very best care.

I earned my medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and went on to complete my pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. I also hold a Master’s degree in Medical Education from the University of Pittsburgh.

In addition to caring for critically ill newborns, I’ve focused much of my career on advancing healthcare simulation, patient safety, and medical education. Prior to joining Boston Children’s, I served as the Medical Director of the Simulation Center at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Florida, where I helped lead national efforts in immersive, hands-on learning to improve outcomes in pediatrics.

Leading Innovation in Skeletal Dysplasia Care

This year, I took on one of my most meaningful projects yet — building and launching a comprehensive Skeletal Dysplasia Program at Boston Children’s Hospital. This program brings together a world-class, multidisciplinary team focused on providing cutting-edge care and long-term support for children living with skeletal dysplasias and other rare bone disorders.

This work is deeply personal and professionally fulfilling. As both a clinician and someone with skeletal dysplasia, I’m uniquely positioned to guide families through the complexities of diagnosis, treatment, and lifelong advocacy — and to ensure that every child is met with not only expert care, but also understanding and respect.

A Voice in Medicine & Media

Beyond the hospital, I share my voice through media, education, and advocacy. I am a medical contributor for Katie Couric Media and the host of a pediatric-focused podcast, where I spotlight pressing issues in children’s health and stories of strength and resilience.

Many know me from The Little Couple, the long-running TLC series that followed my life with my husband, entrepreneur Bill Klein, and our two incredible children, Will and Zoey. Through the show and beyond, we’ve aimed to uplift and inform others about parenting, disability, adoption, and the joys and challenges of real family life.
